Relax. We can help!
Creekview Dental is a Board Certified Sedation Center and we offer a variety of treatments and techniques to keep you comfortable during your appointments with us. Whether you suffer from Dental Anxiety, a strong gag reflex or simply prefer to be a little less aware of the treatment you’re receiving during your appointments with us, you should know you have options.
We understand many people have had negative dental experiences in their pasts and you should know dentistry has changed. We are experienced in helping patients cope with their dental phobias and fears and offer some options to help you relax. Dr. Haag successfully completed advanced training for Conscious Sedation Dentistry at the University of MN in 2004.
Inhaled Sedation
Nitrous Oxide, also known as laughing gas, is a form of conscious sedation often used to help reduce anxiety in our patients and is safe for both children and adults. At the end of your appointment, we use Oxygen to flush the effects of the Nitrous Oxide from your system so you are ready to get on with your day.
Oral Sedation
Oral Conscious Sedation is a safe, effective option to help calm those with mild-to-moderate dental anxiety. It is also a good option for patients that have very busy schedules and would like to complete their dental treatment in fewer, longer appointments rather than multiple short appointments. The medication used has an amnesia effect so that patients often don’t remember anything about their appointments. Because this is Conscious Sedation (not General Anesthesia), patients are still able to respond, but may sleep on and off throughout their appointment. Conscious Sedation patients do need to have someone bring them home and stay with them for the remainder of the day.
IV Sedation
IV Sedation is used for patients that have severe dental anxiety or require a more precise administration of medication due to health issues or previous failed Oral Sedation sessions. The medication used has an amnesia effect so that patients often don’t remember anything about their appointments. Because this is Conscious Sedation (not General Anesthesia), patients are still able to respond, but may sleep off and on throughout their appointment. Conscious Sedation patient do need to have someone bring them to their appointment, bring them home and stay with them for the remainder of the day.
